DGS&D is the nodal purchase agency for the Government of India which registers firms/suppliers and products and finalizes rate contracts with them. They also supply these items to all government departments including Central and State Governments on direct purchase basis. The following are the approved models under the same:

Retired or serving Defence personnel can get their choice of Chevrolet car at special rates from CSD or Canteen Stores Department; a nodal agency of the Ministry of Defence. This scheme extends to all commissioned Officers who belong to Ministry of Defence, subject to conditions and guidelines as issued by the CSD. The Spark, Beat(P), Cruze, and Tavera are approved for sale through CSD depots.

The following procedure applies for all bookings:

• Purchase indent to be submitted to concerned Area Depot.
• 100% payment by Demand Draft in favour of Canteen Stores Department.
• Salary Slip copy and PAN number.
