GM India Donates Rs 2.75 Lakh to Sankalp School, Adopts Classroom
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, General Motors India donated a sum of Rs 2.75 Lakh to Sankalp School in Gurgaon, run by Sankalp NGO. The amount has been allocated towards adoption of a classroom as well as sponsorship of the uniforms of all the children at Sankalp School. With the CSR mission of ‘Driving a Better Tomorrow’ for the underprivileged students, GM India has taken it upon itself to shape a good future for the students so that they do not face any difficulty in their basic requirements like uniforms and school kits. The objective is to ensure good quality education for the students which helps in shaping their careers with an aiming of providing a prosperous future for the less fortunate students who have been facing financial and social difficulties.
Senior GM India Leadership including Mr. Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director, GM India along with other Staff Heads and GM India employees visited the school on the special occasion of India’s Independence Day to take part in the flag hoisting ceremony followed by National Anthem. The senior GM India leadership also recognized the toppers of ‘Sankalp’ School by distributing prizes for excellence in the fields of Academics, Art, Craft, Sports, Music and Dance. The programme also included heart-warming traditional song and dance performances by the young kids celebrating the spirit of patriotism on India’s Independence Day. To conclude, the GM India HQ senior leadership undertook a walkthrough of the school and also distributed sweets and biscuits to the entire Sankalp School students on the special occasion.
