GMTC-I Conducts their Annual Blood Donation Drive in July this year - The third annual blood donation drive organized at GMTC-I on 17th July 2013, saw 284 employees come forward and be part of the initiative. A total of 245 units were collected by two highly reputed blood banks. This helped ease the extreme shortage of blood in the city. We are very grateful for the ardent support shown by all.
Children's Traffic Education Park - The Traffic Education Park in Sayajibaug, Vadodara was recently revamped and reopened to the public with a helping hand from Chevrolet. The park was jointly inaugurated by the Baroda Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Ashwini Kumar, the City Mayor, Dr. Jyotiben Pandya, the Chairperson of Vadodara Marathon, Ms. Tejal Amin, Baroda Police Commissioner, Mr. Satish Sharma, Mr. Lowell Paddock President and Managing Director, General Motors India and other distinguished guests. GM India along with Vadodara Marathon came together to restore the park to its original splendor.
Mr. Lowell Paddock, President and Managing Director speaking at the event said, “GM India is always committed to social causes and the Vadodara Marathon was a unique platform to get associated especially to create awareness about road safety and traffic challenges.”
Musical Concert - Disha, the women council at GM India headquarter, Gurgaon organized a musical concert for 'Sankalp Welfare Society', a Gurgaon based NGO, to mark 15 years of its inception. Mr. Lowell Paddock, President & Managing Director, General Motors India was the honorary Chief Guest at the occasion. The musical concert was aimed at raising funds for sponsoring education of underprivileged children.
GM India has been associated with various blood banks and has been organizing blood donation drives for more than 3 years now.
In 2011, GM partnered with Sankalp India Foundation to become a part of the drive- Donate Blood Save Lives.The blood donation camp held on 15th July 2011 at GM's premise, received tremendous response with around 199 employees donating blood.
Walking for a Cause - On World Environment Day (5th June 2011), GM India's team of 110 volunteers joined the Go Green team at the Tech Centre in association with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Panel of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). GM had the highest number of walkers.
Drawing Competition - To spread awareness about environment, GM India organized a drawing competition for school children of various age groups from the nearby village Halol.
Renovation and repair of homes destroyed by natural disasters - GM India provided relief to victims of natural disasters, supported educational/technical institutions like Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Hospitals, helped renovate and repair homes of those impacted by floods and earthquakes.
Toy donation drive - for a local NGO and basic donation drives towards flood relief and rehabilitation work in Karnataka.
GM India has adopted a school cum residential home for abandoned and under privileged children in nearby villages and have conducted various programs for its development.
GM India imparts knowledge to school students, educates them about health, hygiene, safe water, sanitation etc. Also, makes an effort for girl empowerment by enhancing the behaviour skills, personality development, communication skills etc. The community service program has also been a focus area for organized free medical camps for the residents of nearby villages.
GM India believes in working with the government to spread awareness about issues that are in public interest and have an overall impact on the State's development.
